This series shows paintings related to Shan shui [山水], which refers to a style of traditional Chinese painting that involves or depicts scenery or natural landscapes.
Mountains had long been seen as sacred places in China, which were viewed as the homes of immortals and thus, close to the heavens. The art of Shan shui has a strong reference to Daoism imagery and motifs. The artist shows her philosophical interest in nature and naturalism by presenting this series.
